Many people including administrators, school counselors, and teachers worked together in the spring and in June to create a schedule that works to accommodate and meet the needs of students in the core areas for language arts, math, social studies and science. Band and Choir were also given consideration since both programs include many students in grades 9-12. In addition, students in the construction trades program and culinary arts program were given special consideration.
Your students’ schedule can be accessed online through the JMC access. In most cases, students have been placed in classes based on their spring “wish list” class registration process. The required courses have been scheduled for students to achieve district standards and state mandates.In some cases, there may be some reasons to move or change students from the electives they have been assigned to. Please make contact with Mrs. Mason at the school email address (masonm@essex.k12.ia.is) to make inquiries about scheduling conflicts. Mrs. Mason will also be available at the Essex school on the day of registration on August 8, 2022 from 12-2:30 and 4-7 pm if you would like to meet with her individually. In addition, she can be reached to set up an appointment to meet before classes start on August 24.
